Hailing from the small farming community of Edina, Missouri, Michael Carlson is now looking to the stars. After earning his bachelor鈥檚 degree in computer science from Missouri S&T in May, he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the U.S. Space Force, where he plans to specialize in cybersecurity. In recognition of its exceptional return on investment, Missouri S&T was recently ranked 30th among the nation鈥檚 public universities in Money鈥檚 2022 Best Colleges ranking.
