On Monday, President Choi visited the Capitol and met with many senators on appropriations and Speaker Elijah Haahr to advocate for UM System’s core budget and funding for the TPMC.

During Tuesday, the House worked throughout the entire day to perfect the FY2020 budget. Early that morning, HB 3, dealing with the Department of Higher Education, was perfected with an amendment offered by Chairman Cody Smith that increased the TPMC line item from $1 million to include an additional $2 million, for a total of $3 million. Additionally, the core for UM System stayed flat. During debate, several legislators - including Rep. Greg Razer, Rep. Dean Dohrman and Rep. Chuck Basye - stood on the floor and talked about the dramatic impact that the TPMC would have for the state of Missouri. Thursday morning, the bills were third read and passed and will now go to the Senate Appropriations Committee for review.
