- Policy for Honoring the Memory of Distinguished Individuals -- The University community recognizes that it is fitting and proper to honor the memory of certain individuals whose contributions merit special tribute. When so ordered by the President and as an act of respect and honor, it shall be the policy of the University to cease such activities as may be appropriate and to observe a short period of silence or take other commemorative action at the time memorial services are held as a recognition of such individuals.
