- Academic units such as colleges and schools may be named after individuals who have achieved distinction in one or more fields of endeavor within the academic unit or who have made a significant financial contribution to the University.
- The naming of academic units requires approval of the Board of Curators.
- In consultation with the Board of Curators, the University President shall establish, from time to time, minimum contributions to name an academic unit.
- Guidelines -- The campus Chancellor should consult with the tenured faculty of the academic unit prior to preparing a recommendation to the Board for presentation by the University President.
