MEDIA ADVISORY: UM System hosts law and business deans for COVID-19 panel

As Missouri reopens, panelists will discuss challenges and possible solutions related to pandemic’s effect on businesses and industry.

WHAT: The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½± System will host business and law school deans and professors from each of the four UM System universities for a virtual roundtable discussion on COVID-19. The deans will examine the challenges faced by employers, industries and workers as the state of Missouri begins the gradual process of reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Topics of discussion may include new business and marketing models, supply chain challenges, loans and insurance, real estate, liability and other legal issues. Panelists will also answer audience questions, which can be submitted before or during the event.

WHO: Panelists include:        

  • Barbara Glesner Fines, dean and Rubey M. Hulen Professor of Law at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½±-Kansas City School of Law
  • Charles Hoffman, dean of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½±-St. Louis College of Business Administration
  • Brian Klaas, dean and professor of management at the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management
  • Lyrissa Lidsky, dean and Judge C.A. Leedy Professor of Law at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½±-Columbia School of Law
  • Matt McCormick, president and CEO of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce
  • Keng Siau, department chair and professor in the Missouri University of Science and Technology Department of Business & Information Technology
  • Jeff Simon, Office Managing Partner at law firm Husch Blackwell
  • Ajay Vinzé, dean and professor at the MU Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business
