House hears bill on elimination of tenure

The House Higher Education Committee heard , sponsored by Representative Rick Brattin (R-55). The bill would eliminate tenure for new employees at public higher education institutions and would require that specific information related to degree offerings be made available to the public. There was a lot of opposition to this bill from the committee as they expressed concern the elimination of tenure would discourage some of the best teachers in the country from coming to our state.
